JAZZ WEEKLY
review by George Harris 5-12-2009:
"One of the key elements of
any musician is to develop your own sound. Violinist Drew Tretick has a
tone that harkens back to the day when milking a note for all it’s worth
was what brought the crowds in, and Tretick plays with the London
Symphony Orchestra for an album’s worth of warm soundtrack pieces. Most
jazz oriented are the standards “For All We Know” and ”What a Wonderful
World” which feature a Bechet-like vibrato that is quite bel canto. All
modern jazzers should take time to appreciate the time honored lesson
displayed here that “it’s not what you say, but the way that you say
it.”
ANDREA MORRICONE, composer (Cinema
Paradiso): "Drew Tretick and the
London Symphony Orchestra perform with such beauty and sensitivity."

Customer comments:
"The violin sounds
great! It sounds just like yours and I connect it to my mixer
and the computer and I made some CDs." Watch Gerhard play it
on
YouTube.
Gerhard W., Calgary, Alberta Canada (Age 12)
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I
received the violin yesterday and I am extremely happy with
this beautiful instrument! It definitely exceeded my
expectations. The redwood is so gorgeous and very
lightweight. Plus, it is balanced perfectly. I can't
wait to plug it in with a little reverb or delay. Like you
Drew, I want to bring tears to peoples eyes. Tears of
happiness by moving their spirit with beautiful music.
Now that I am in possession of this wonderful violin I need
to carry on the tradition of making the best music possible
with it. Like Les Paul the guitarist once said, 'you
need to make every note count.' That will be my goal."
John J., Sioux Falls, SD
"I played the violin for an entire
school year in the school jazz band. It is a wonderful
instrument... still love the sound!"
