REVIEWS
Jim Cunningham, WQED Pittsburgh...
“Drew Tretick’s Cinema Classics is a great favorite on the Morning Show... beautifully recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, and top notch playing from Drew.”
Jazz Weekly review of "Cinema Classics" CD...
“All modern jazzers should take time to appreciate the time honored lesson displayed here that it’s not what you say, but the way that you say it.” - George Harris
Andrea Morricone...
“Drew Tretick and the London Symphony perform with such beauty and sensitivity.”
Recorded with the Slovak National Symphony, Drew brings his electric violin sound and style to Broadway, film, popular, opera, and classics arranged for violin and orchestra. The opening track, Phantom of the Opera includes "Music of the Night," "Phantom" and "All I Ask of You." His virtuosity is on display in Flight of the Bumblebee and Vivaldi's Summer. The album ends gently with the Ave Maria and Meditation from Thais. Enjoy the musical variety and warmth of Drew's playing in A Summer Serenade!
Featuring Somewhere in Time, Dances With Wolves and Schindler's List, this is an album of favorites and beautiful Drew Tretick originals. The album showcases Mr. Tretick's abilities not only as violinist, but as orchestra composer, arranger and his skills on the various instruments he uses in this recording. All arrangements, violin, piano, instrumentation and performances by Drew Tretick.
Featuring Time To Say Goodbye as heard in the Olympics and seen on PBS. Drew's moving performance of Time to Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro) and improvisations on classic themes and originals follow the opening track. With the exception of the opening track, the album is performed completely live from an electric violin, with nothing prerecorded using interactive technology he developed.
As seen and heard on ESPN (Star-Spangled Banner) and quite unlike his other albums, Drew is featured in this live concert setting presenting electronic violin technology to make his violin sound like virtually anything. The point was to inspire students to think of the different possibilities that lie ahead for them on a string instrument. Absolutely everything you hear comes from the violin. It is amazing to listen and imagine Drew playing the violin to create all of this. An energetic, boldly different album that has been inspirational to students around the world. Audience favorites include Star-Sangled Banner, Electric Folklore, and Montana Meadow.
